Willows Requiem
As I walked in a field of sadness
I saw dead willows shift with the wind
Black masses passed my way
Carrying a simple casket
Simple and pure like the bed of a peasant
Chorus:
I heard the willows whispering
Humming a dark song
Entranced by the music
I listened to the willow’s requiem
I heard them whispering
Humming a requiem
I asked who it was
they carried to his grave
“It was a dream
Killed by a word of grief”
Naïve and weak
No chance to survive
In this cold, dark land
Chorus
Leading them all was an innocent beauty
Clad in black
The widow was grieving
- Her name was Hope -
For she knew she’ll be next
To die
